Thoughtful Mallorca Wedding Catering: Sina and Florian’s Wedding at Terra Ión

When couples begin looking for a wedding caterer in Mallorca, the food is naturally one of their biggest considerations. However, exceptional wedding catering is about much more than the menu.

It is also about communication, planning, service and knowing that every guest will be properly cared for, including those with allergies or special dietary requirements.

For Sina and Florian, Delicioso provided all of this and more at their beautiful wedding at Terra Ión on 13 June.

From their tasting in Santa Ponsa to the final hours of their wedding celebration, the couple felt supported, understood and completely confident in the team looking after them.

Planning a destination wedding in Mallorca

Planning a destination wedding involves making many important decisions from a distance. Couples need suppliers who respond clearly, understand their ideas and keep track of the countless details involved in bringing a wedding together.

From the beginning of their planning journey, Sina and Florian found the Delicioso team professional, friendly and well organised.

As they explained in their review:

“Communication was always smooth, and the tasting in Santa Ponsa gave us even more confidence that we had made the right decision.”

Delicioso offers couples a choice of fully inclusive Mallorca wedding catering packages, including Classic, Mediterranean Sharing and Tapas and Paella menus. These packages provide a starting point that can then be adapted to suit the couple, the venue and their guests.

Sina and Florian selected the eight-hour Classic Menu package, with additional hours allowing the celebration to continue until 2am.

Why arrange a wedding menu tasting?

A wedding menu tasting is an opportunity to try the food, but it is also an important part of the wider planning process.

During a tasting, couples can discuss:

  • The balance of flavours across the menu
  • How each course will be presented
  • Portion sizes
  • Canapé selections
  • Drinks and cocktails
  • Dietary requirements
  • Allergies and cross-contamination concerns
  • Children’s meals
  • Desserts and wedding cake alternatives
  • The timing and style of service

Sina and Florian attended their Delicioso tasting in Santa Ponsa in February, several months before their June wedding. This gave them time to finalise their choices and plan individual dishes for guests who could not safely eat elements of the main menu.

For couples travelling to Mallorca before their wedding, a tasting can make the menu feel real and provide additional confidence in their chosen caterer.

A canapé reception in the gardens of Terra Ión

Following the ceremony, guests moved into the gardens of Terra Ión for drinks and passed canapés.

The couple selected six canapés offering a mixture of rich, fresh and internationally inspired flavours:

  • Beef tartare on a yuca and chilli cracker
  • Smoked cheese croquettes
  • Tuna tartare on a chilli cracker
  • Smoked salmon blini with cream cheese and wasabi
  • Mixed flavoured mini quiches
  • Mango and nectarine gazpacho

Welcome drinks included water, lemonade, beer and limoncello spritzes. During the reception, guests could also enjoy wines from Terra Ión, alcohol-free beer and cocktails including Canonita with tonic and limoncello spritz.

This part of the day is about more than satisfying hungry guests. A well-planned canapé reception creates a natural transition between the ceremony and dinner, allowing the newlyweds to take photographs while their friends and family relax, mingle and enjoy the venue.

A personalised Classic wedding menu

For their seated dinner, Sina and Florian chose Delicioso’s Classic Menu style, giving guests an individually plated dining experience.

The starter choices included:

  • Fish and prawn ceviche with a crispy taco
  • Salad with grilled pineapple and burrata

For the main course, guests selected either:

  • Wild mushroom and white truffle risotto
  • Sea bass with saffron sauce, ratatouille and roasted potatoes

The meal concluded with a mango and passion fruit dessert, accompanied by espresso martinis and coffee.

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the couple chose an enormous ensaïmada supplied by Delicioso. This classic Mallorcan pastry was presented at the end of dinner before being portioned, plated and served to guests.

Choosing a local dessert or late-night dish is a lovely way to give an international wedding a sense of place. It allows guests to experience something unmistakably connected to Mallorca while keeping the menu personal to the couple.

Wedding catering for allergies and dietary requirements

One of the most important parts of Sina and Florian’s catering plan was caring for guests with allergies and special dietary requirements.

Their guests included someone with coeliac disease, a guest with nut allergies and another with an extensive list of fruit and vegetable allergies. There was also a pregnant guest who required pasteurised ingredients and individually selected dishes.

Each requirement needed to be considered carefully. In the case of coeliac disease, this included taking precautions to prevent gluten cross-contamination through shared pans, utensils and preparation areas.

Special canapés and adapted courses were planned for the relevant guests, rather than leaving them to work out what they could eat on the day.

This attention made an enormous impression. Sina and Florian wrote:

“Several guests told us afterwards that they had never experienced such thoughtful and professional service before. That meant so much to us.”

For a guest with a serious allergy, being served at a wedding can sometimes feel uncertain. They may be presented with a very limited alternative or need to repeatedly explain their condition to different members of staff.

A professional wedding caterer should gather accurate information in advance, plan suitable alternatives and make sure the service team knows how each guest should be looked after.

Delicioso’s approach meant that Sina and Florian did not have to worry about this during their wedding. More importantly, their guests felt considered and included.

Service that allows the couple to enjoy their wedding

Even the most carefully designed menu needs the right service team behind it.

On the wedding day, Sina and Florian found the entire Delicioso team friendly, motivated and genuinely invested in making their celebration a success.

“It felt like they really cared about making our wedding perfect.”

Delicioso managed the food, drinks, furniture, table service, bar and timings throughout the event. This included welcome drinks, the canapé reception, dinner service, speeches between courses, the wedding toast, coffee, cocktails and the transition into the evening party.

The couple could enjoy each part of the day without needing to monitor what was happening behind the scenes.

“Throughout the whole day, Delicioso made us feel like we were the most important couple in the world. Everything ran smoothly, we could simply enjoy the day, and we always felt that we were in the best hands.”

This is one of the most valuable things an experienced wedding team can provide. Good service should feel warm and attentive to guests, while the planning and logistics remain almost invisible.

Cocktails, dancing and a Mallorcan late-night snack

After dinner, the celebration continued with an open bar and dancing inside Terra Ión’s wine cellar.

The evening bar included wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks, together with upgraded cocktails such as the Sbagliato and Amaretto Sour.

At midnight, guests were served coca de verduras at the bistro tables. This traditional Mallorcan vegetable-topped flatbread provided a welcome late-night snack and another local touch to the couple’s destination wedding.

When planning a longer wedding celebration, late-night food is always worth considering. It gives guests renewed energy and helps maintain the party atmosphere into the early hours.

A special thank you to Mica and the Delicioso team

Sina and Florian gave a special mention to Mica, who supported them throughout the planning process and on the wedding day.

“Your kindness, professionalism and calm approach made such a difference.”

Destination wedding planning can occasionally feel overwhelming. Having a calm and experienced person who understands the menu, venue and schedule gives couples a reliable point of contact throughout the process.

Sina and Florian’s final verdict was unequivocal:

“We couldn’t have been happier with Delicioso and would choose them again without hesitation.”
